The official website of SecureBank India (securebank.in) has been hacked. A hacker that uses the online moniker “synd1c4te” has taken credit for the attack.

According to Pinoy Hack News, the hacker is from the Philippines. Filipino hacktivists have been quite active lately. However, they don’t often become involved in international operations.

In this case, the attacker hacked SecureBank in protest against the actions of the Indian army in Kashmir.

“All we ask is freedom. You can kill us but you can’t stop us, we shall not give up. Giving up is not an option. Freedom is our goal,” the hacker wrote on the defaced page.

What’s interesting about this attack is that the site of SecureBank has been hacked and defaced twice in less than 24 hours. The site’s main page was first defaced on Thursday.

Its administrators restored it, but they didn’t patch the vulnerability that allowed the hacker to gain access, so the website was defaced again. At the time of writing, it’s still defaced.

SecureBank is a unit of Secure Success Plan Private Limited. It focuses its activity on delivering innovative investment plans.
