Stop dialing with your phone in your pocket

While every Android-based smartphone require users to unlock their screen to be able to dial a number, most of them only require a click on a dedicated button or a simple combination of two keys. This sometimes leads to unwanted phone calls, when the device is kept in the pocket.

[ADMARk=1]People can push the exact same buttons fortuitously without even knowing, thus increasing their bill. Not to mention the fact that it's annoying to dial someone when you're in a personal meeting, which you don't want anyone to find about.

Anyway, do not despair, as the latest devices coming from HTC include a special security feature that would make it almost impossible for users to accidentally dial someone with their phone in the pocket. Just go to “Settings” under the "Security” option and choose the “Require pattern” option. This will provide you with a screen where you need record a special code by sliding on a designated pattern.

Basically, you will need to follow some lines that unite in special dots, by sliding through them. The pattern must include at least four of these dots, but you can add more by following complicated patterns.

Bear in mind that this feature will add one more step to the unlocking action, so every time you need to call someone or use your device you will need to wake-up your screen and then fill in the secret patter that you have chosen. Those that wish to have quick access to their phone most of time will probably avoid this security option, but for those that prefer safety over swiftness this features is quite useful.
