Secunia has released version 4.0 for Vulnerability Intelligence Manager (VIM), their solution for delivering information about software vulnerabilities.

Designed specifically for organizations, VIM 4.0 brings to the table a set of new features and an improved user interface that is similar to Secunia CSI.

The new VIM can display XML and RSS intelligence feeds based on the configured asset list and sports a better match between imported assets and the Secunia product database.

User activity, such as write actions and logins, is recorded for auditing purposes and compliance monitoring. Furthermore, data can now be exported to a CSV file.

VIM 4.0 can cover more than 40,000 software systems and applications and can help deal with security threats.

According to Secunia, 78% of the vulnerabilities are found in third-party programs in an organization. Monitoring them manually or determining the ones critical for the company is not a job security teams can carry out.
