New interface makes the app easier to use than ever

The beta version for Secunia Personal Software Inspector 3.0 adds a new component to the application, designed to make keeping your programs updated even easier than before.

It is called Secunia Package System (SPS) and its purpose is to perform automatic, silent updates to outdated software on your computer. As such, you no longer have to manually deploy the update mechanism for it.

SPS relies on a vulnerability database maintained by Secunia. The moment an insecure program is detected on your computer, Secunia PSI automatically starts the update procedure and alerts you of the new build.

However, even if the software database is quite huge, it does not cover all applications and in some cases the automatic patching procedure may not be available. The release of the stable product is slated for June 2012.

The interface has also been greatly simplified, as you can see from the images in the gallery below.
