IT security solutions provider Secunia has released Country Reports for Germany, the UK, the US, Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden. The studies contain some interesting data on how much vulnerable software is installed on PCs in each country.

For instance, in the US, 15.3% of users had an unpatched operating system in the first quarter of 2013. However, only 12% of the total of vulnerabilities affected the operating system, most of them (70%) being in third-party software.

Between January and March 2013, in the UK, 10% of users had Adobe Shockwave Player 10 installed, which is an end-of-life application that no longer receives security updates.

As far as Germany is concerned, in Q1 2013, 91% of users had Adobe Flash installed on their computers. However, 19% of them hadn’t applied the latest updates.

Later this year, similar reports will be made available for other countries as well, including studies containing global data.
