Mountain View-based Internet giant Google has finally made this year’s Nexus 7 tablet PC available for purchase in Canada through its official Google Play Store.

The slate was launched in the United States in July, bringing along a nice range of enhancements over last year’s model.

The new Nexus 7 features a price tag of $229.00 CAD ($221 USD / €167) for the 16GB version, and can be bought for $269.00 CAD ($260 USD / €196) with 32GB of internal memory.

At the moment, Google is also offering free ground shipping for the device, though it will continue to do so only for a limited period.

The tablet PC is accompanied by a new Nexus 7 Sleeve, which features a price tag of $29.99 CAD, and which was made available for purchase in the United States as well.

For those out of the loop, we should note that the second-generation Nexus 7 tablet PC was launched with a 7-inch 1080p HD (1920 x 1200 pixels) touchscreen display, as well as with a 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset inside.

Furthermore, the device packs 2GB of RAM, the aforementioned internal memory options, and a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, complemented by a 1.2MP front camera for making video calls.

This year’s Nexus 7 tablet PC runs under the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system, sports 5.1 surround sound, and is 2mm thinner than last year’s model, as The Next Web notes.

At the moment, the tablet PC is available only in the United States and Canada, but is set to arrive in Australia, Germany, France, Japan, Spain, South Korea, and the UK as well in the coming weeks. It will also be pushed to other markets in the not too distant future.

Users in Canada interested in the purchase of the device should head over to this page in the Google Play Store for that.
