Asus and Google have been long rumored to plan the release of a successor for the Nexus 7 tablet PC that landed on shelves last year, a device that might arrive as Nexus 7 II, and which can be admired in leaked press photos that emerged online over the weekend.

When made available for purchase, the 7-inch device should prove taller than its predecessor, while also being thinner, said leaked shots that @evleaks brought to the web unveil.

Rumor has it that the new slate will arrive on the market in both 16GB and 32GB versions, and that it might go official as soon as Wednesday, July 24, during a Google press event that has already been announced.

Furthermore, a leaked Best Buy ad that surfaced at PhoneArena, which is set to run on July 28, shows that the new Nexus 7 will go up for sale on July 30, and that the 16GB model might be priced at $229 (€174).
