Phoenix Jones, the masked superhero / vigilante from Seattle, has long become a household name. He walks the streets of the city at night, preventing crime and, apparently, getting into legal trouble. Now, the people of Seattle have a name and a face to assign to the image of the crime-fighter.

Jones was in court the other day, facing charges of assault, stemming from a recent incident in which he tried to break up a street fight by macing people to the right and left, as we also informed you at the time.

As he left the courthouse, Jones made a very surprising statement: he revealed his identity, as the video below will confirm.

Jones walked in the courtroom with his mask on but, according to reports, was told to remove it before the judge.

When the time came to come out, he put it back on – but only for dramatic effect, as he removed it minutes later, when he revealed his identity.

“I’m Phoenix Jones. I’m also Ben Fodor. I’m a father. I’m also a brother. I’m just like everyone else. The only difference is, I decided to make a difference and stop crime in my neighborhood and my area,” he told reporters outside the courthouse.

He then went on to say that he was no different from any other man (or woman) who wanted to change things for the better – except perhaps that he chose to wear a mask and be part of a real-life superhero league, the so-called the Rain City Superhero Movement.

However, others are free to join him. On the same occasion, Jones / Fodor noted that he’s a team player and would gladly take other crime-fighters with him on his nightly patrols.

“I will continue to patrol. I’m going to do what I’ve always done… If anyone wants to join me or help me out, send me a message, find me on Facebook. I’ll be on the streets,” he told reporters.
