Not much is known of Rihanna’s upcoming material, except for a couple of details that leaked in the media a while back. While record label Def Jam is keeping tight-lipped about the album, as is Rihanna herself, 19-year-old hitmaker Sean Kingston is more than eager to spill the beans on his contribution to it, as RapUp can confirm.

The singer talked to RapUp and revealed that he was also among the many collaborators that Rihanna’s album would feature, as we were also telling you a few weeks ago. Apparently, Def Jam wanted Kingston for his specific sound and because he could bring something different to the table, as Rihanna is again trying to reinvent herself musically with the next material. Ever since her people contacted him, Sean was open to all suggestions, he tells the aforementioned publication.

“Me and my producer Yankee, we cooking up some stuff. Her people said we want some stuff for Rihanna ’cause I’m from Jamaica. I got the island feel, so I’m writing some stuff right now for her new album.” Kingston says for RapUp. “You know what I like about her? She’s never changed. Even when her music changed, she always represented for the Caribbean, always represented for Barbados, and that’s what Sean Kingston does. He represents for Jamaica. Anything I do, I always put Jamaica in there. You can’t leave where you’re coming from and I like that about her.” he adds.

As we were also telling you back in July, Rihanna’s upcoming album is meant to be the biggest release from Def Jam in recent times, with plenty of collaborators and producers giving it their best to make it an instant hit. With the help of big names like Kanye West, Justin Timberlake, Soulja Boy, Jay-Z and Pharrell Williams, the album will also approach a new, edgier sound, with more pop and rock notes than any other previous material, sources from inside the label were dishing a while back.

“In brief, this album will be the best of Rihanna and certainly the best of all the league of the artists produced by DEF Jam.” insiders revealed at the time. Rihanna started work on it before the Chris Brown incident in February this year and, right now, two tracks are said to be one hundred percent completed and ready for release. Keep an eye on this space for more details as they emerge.
