Oscar-winner Sean Connery, 75, will receive the lifetime achievement award at The European Film Academy this year.

The 18th annual gala will take place on December 9 in Berlin, and includes 19 categories.

The EFAs are considered the film industry's most prestigious European awards.

Among the previous EFA lifetime achievement award winners are directors Claude Chabrol and Carlos Saura, actor Richard Harris and film composer Ennio Morricone.
