Seamless WiFi have published recently on the Seamless Internet website, a photo of their S-XGen flip-and-fold and a list of full specifications which, according to the website, could change without notice. The design of the flip-and-fold handset is very innovative, with its full scale deployable/removable QWERTY keyboard and the cursor, MP3, power, game and reset buttons.
The S-XGen will run a Microsoft Windows CE 5.0, on a Intel PXA 270
Xscale
processor, with a speed of 520 Mhz, which are more than enough for everybody, and will have a 29 GB hard drive and a memory of 128 MB SDRAM MMC card with spring support. The I/O is also well represented, the tri-band phone, operating on 900/1800/1900 Mhz type networks, being able to offer connectivity through IrDA, USB 2.0/OTG, USB 1.1 for active sync, Wi-Fi compliant wireless LAN card (IEEE 802.11 B), Bluetooth and
Ethernet 100/10.
The 4 ¼ inch transflective TFT
touch screen, with backlight of minimum ¼ VGA and 470x270 pixels resolution, could be a little bigger to offer a better screen-to-device ratio, but hopefully, Seamless WiFi will change their mind, and, as it is said on the website, will just change the specs without notice and will decide to put in a bigger display.
The S-XGen will most probably be displayed at the Seamless' WiFi stand at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, this being just another thing that could make you go check out what the CES participants will have to show us.
