The development team behind the Seahorse application, a GNOME package used for managing passwords and encryption keys in the GNOMEKeyring, announced a few days ago the immediate availability for download and testing of the first Beta release of the upcoming Seahorse 3.10.

Seahorse 3.10 Beta 1 now displays the sidebar by default, the minimum key size has been bumped to 768 bits, "DesktopSettings;X-XFCE-SettingsDialog;" has been added to .desktop categories, and the 'Comment' field has been inserted in the advanced section of the PGP key generation dialog.

Import from clipboard is now permitted only when data is available, the application now uses the SoupProxyResolverDefault feature, an uninitialized memory access issue has been fixed, and some of the code has been ported to Vala.

Various build fixes have been applied to Seahorse 3.10 Beta 1, as well as translation fixes and updates. For more details, please check the official raw changelog.

Download Seahorse 3.10 Beta 1 right now from Softpedia. Remember that this is a beta version and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
