A certain collection of Seagate external hard disk drive units will get an update to the firmware soon, according to Gear Diary.

The Seagate GoFlex Satellite line of HDDs will be updated on March 19 with a Satellite firmware refresh.

When that day comes, two very important things will happen to the external hard disk units.

First off, the battery life will be doubled. Secondly, the number of devices possible to connect simultaneously to a unit will go up as well, from 3 to 8.

For those who haven't remembered yet, Seagate's GoFlex streaming drives are wireless storage devices that stream media to monitors, PCs or TVs via Wi-Fi.

For those who want to know more about the Seagate GoFlex Satellite, the HDD has actually been around for quite some time, since May 2011 in fact.
