It features out-of-process plugins for Mac, in 32-bit mode

Mozilla rolled out the second beta for version 2.20 of SeaMonkey web browser. There aren’t numerous changes available, but this build brings the application closer to a stable release.

An important change is that, on Mac systems, all plugins are run out-of-process (OOP) by default.

This happens in 32-bit mode and should lead to a significant increase in stability because plugins have their own process, isolated from the browser’s, and any glitch affecting their functionality no longer has repercussions on SeaMonkey itself.

Another modification is an error in the “about” page that informed the user they were on the “default” update channel, which is for the stable build. Instead, the dialog should have displayed that the update channel is “beta”; this has been repaired in the currently released beta.
