The cooling module works with both Intel and AMD processors

Looking for a CPU cooler that's better than whatever your chip shipped with, but won't cost an arm and a leg? The Scythe Kodati might be the thing for you.

Measuring 82.5 x 95 x 34 mm, or 3.25 x 3.74 x 1.34 inches, the cooler supports both Intel and AMD central processing units (CPUs) and accelerated processing units (APU).

All thanks to the simplistic E.I.S mounting, which lets you easily install the Kodati without having to add a backplate to the rear of the mainboard or anything of the sort. "Easy Installation with Screw" mounting system is what Scythe calls it.

Anyway, the new cooler is short enough that it can be used in very thin cases. Also, the fan can be mounted between the heatsink and base plate, further reducing space requirements. Altogether, the Skythe Kodati weighs 180 grams, or 6.35 ounces.

Clearly, the Japanese company was aiming to create a good cooler that could, nonetheless, suit small PCs, down to mini-ITX cases, particularly well. We dare say the attempt was successful.

The Scythe Kodati Top-Flow CPU cooler with two 6mm copper heatpipes, one aluminum fin array, and one fan, has a price of €18 / $24 and bears the part number SCKDT-1000.
