Occupies one of the 5.25-inch drive bays that all desktop cases have

Since enthusiasts often want to have complete control over the inner workings of their PCs, Japanese company Scythe has created the Kaze Master Pro Ace fan controller.

The Kaze Master Pro Ace fan controller that just left Scythe's labs is a reimagining, of sorts, of the Kaze Master Pro 5.25.

The overall concept at least, that of a 5.25-inch accessory, is the same.

The item is meant for large and spacious desktop cases where multiple fans are in play at all times.

Kaze Master Pro Ace has a dual role: that of a controller (obviously) and that of a monitor.

Up to six temperature sensors can be kept track of at once.

Meanwhile, fan speeds can be adjusted through the six potentiometers lined up on the lower side of the aluminum front panel.

The speed modifications come about as results of alterations to the output voltage.

One will also notice that there are two extra potentiometers on the sides of the Kaze Master Pro Ace.

Those can help when choosing which two of the six channels should be displayed on the built-in VF-Display.

VF-Display is short for Vacuum Fluorescent Display. It will make it easy to spot the state of the selected fans just by throwing a quick glance at the front of the PC’s main unit.

For those who want more technical details, each fan channel can be separately regulated in a voltage range of 3, 7 and 12 Volts.

Finally, the Ace can measure temperatures of 0 to 100°C (32 and 199,9°F) and the VF-Display enables monitoring in 30 rpm steps, the maximum fan speed achievable being 9,990 rpm.

Obviously, people should be careful not to overdo it, since most fans can barely reach even a third of that.

Fortunately, Scythe built many safety mechanisms into the newcomer, with visual and audio alarms set to go off if safe values are exceeded.

Scythe Kaze Master Pro Ace fan controller has a price of 34.90 Euro ($44) and is colored black. Buyers should make sure they read the user manual carefully.
