Well-known Scythe cooling company has just announced a new version of its powerful Kabuto processor cooling solution. The new cooler comes with the new GlideStream cooling fans that we presented here.

The official name of the new product is Scythe Kabuto 2 and it comes with six heatpipes with a 6-millimeter diameter, but this is rather disappointing as 8mm heatpipes have a much better efficiency.

Priced at 34 EUR ($44) , the Kabuto 2 is not really a high end solution, but we believe 5 heatpipes with a 8mm diameter would have done a much better job with no extra costs.

The new cooler is perfectly compatible LGA 2011, LGA1155, LGA1156, LGA775 and LGA1366 Intel motherboards.

To Scythe’s credit, the Kabuto 2 comes with an interesting and rather easy-to-use mounting system.

On AMD’s side, the Kabuto 2 is compatible with AM2, AM2+, AM3, AM3+ and FM1 motherboards.
