Apple Support Communities has numerous threads discussing the issue

Mavericks has several bugs that need addressing in the upcoming OS X 10.9.1 update which Apple is currently testing, and that includes a scrolling bug that is driving users insane.

Including yours truly. The moment I upgraded to Mavericks I noticed that scrolling was ridiculously jerky. Sometimes, scrolling gets completely disabled as I’m using Firefox or Chrome to browse the web. Trying to scroll through a PDF in Preview is a also nightmare.

After a quick trip to Apple Support Communities, I was glad to see I wasn’t the only one experiencing this issue. Several threads with thousands of hits each are actively discussing the problem, and while some believe they’ve found a workaround, the issue is persistent for most users.

Apple is known to be testing two upcoming Mavericks updates internally, so hopefully the first one of these updates will include a patch for the scrolling fail.
