Script of the Day: jqPlot

jqPlot is a charting library for jQuery. There are many chart and graph plugins for jQuery around, but few have the total package. They're either geared toward one type of chart or provide minimal support for additional chart tools.

jqPlot is truly a complete charting plugin, not only providing support for numerous graph types, but also supporting the numerous enhancements and utilities a chart needs to make it easier to render, read and be understood by the users.

The plugin includes support for legend data, zooming, drag and drop chart updates, data point labels, axis marking, easy styling via CSS, rendering as a HTML 5 canvas element and outputting the chart as a base64 PNG image.

As for graph types, jqPlot can be used to create from simple bar, pie, area, dot or line charts, up to more complicated graph types like donut, bubble, candlestick, block, pyramid, gauge or waterfall.    

Currently, jqPlot development is carried out via BitBucket.
