Social sharing buttons and toolbars have flooded the market for a couple of years now. But few or none have done social buttons the right way like SocialCount has.
This small jQuery plugin does bluntly load all the social buttons code at page load creating a flood of HTTP requests, slowing the page and delaying the display of usable page sections.
It does this smartly by displaying a simple CSS button shape at first, which only when hovered will request the actual button sharing code, display the button itself and allow the user to interact with it.
This means the page loads faster and useless sharing code gets loaded only when the visitor actually intends to use it. The source code can be forked from this GitHub account and a demo can be tested here. Download SocialCount from our Scripts section here.
