Script of the Day: Sliderly

One of the easiest-to-use WordPress plugins for creating image sliders

There is a plethora of WordPress plugins dealing with creating and embedding image or content sliders on WP-powered sites. Each one of them is unique in their own way, with various levels of customization available.

Sliderly was created by Dallas Read and focuses on a simple slideshow display, with a minimal administration interface.

It can handle multiple slideshows on the same WP installation, and allows the site owner to add unlimited images to each slideshow.

Sliderly's interface is very intuitive, AJAX-based and handles very fast even with 10 or more images.

For each slideshow image, a title, description and target URL can be added, showing extra information about the displayed image or the link the image points to.

Minimal in design, Sliderly is recommended for bare interfaces where a classic designed slideshow fits better than complicated or extravagant content sliders like WP Photo Album Plus or SlideDeck.

The plugin is available on the WordPress plugin repository, making it easier to install via WP's built-in plugin installation tool.
