Script of the Day: RefineSlide

RefineSlide is yet another jQuery image slideshow plugin. Unlike many of its counterparts, RefineSlide also integrates CSS 3 technologies and provides support for 3D transitions for an unique look and feel, usually found only in Flash-based solutions.

While developers might think this extended support for CSS transitions might be a little dangerous since it alienates users not having access to a more modern browser, the plugin gracefully degrades to a JavaScript fade transition animation for all environments where CSS 3 is not supported.

With 14 transitions provided out of the box, RefineSlide will cater for the needs of various developers and their projects, providing enough variety for any use case scenario out there.

Another unique feature we haven’t found in any other content sliders we have tested in the last few months was its support for hardware acceleration, of course, only where browsers support is found. Besides, this support is also included for auto-created thumbnails, HTML image captions and a responsive layout for accessing the slider from any device.
