PyroCMS is a content management system built on the CodeIgniter PHP framework that started out as one of Phil Sturgeon’s side projects and has become one of the best open source and third-party hosted CMSs around.
While talking about PyroCMS’core and solid architecture might not be that enticing to new users, we’ll mention that we tested out various PyroCMS’ installations the last few years, starting from branch 0.9.x, 1.x and the last 2.x.
Our humble opinion is this: you won’t find many CMS administration panels that are as easy to use, look this great and as fast as this one.
And even if the themes and modules repository doesn’t even compare to Joomla’s, Drupal’s or WordPress’, you’ll find all the basic extensions to customize and adapt PyroCMS to your project. The PyroCMS source code is developed via GitHub. Pricing plans and other details for the hosted version can be checked out here. A demo is also available for testing.
