Styling the Apache browser via Neat Index Enlarge picture - Styling the Apache browser via Neat Index
Did you get tired of your plain and old Apache folder index? No problem. These days, there are plenty of solutions for skinning the default Apache file browser and one of the best at it is Neat Index.

Created to add support for showing the content of README files under the file listing, Neat Index is a must-have for people hosting code or file repositories via Apache.

The default skin is pretty amazing, adding a new, darker flavor to the Apache index, famous for its boring white background.

Customizing the outputted template's style is easy. All you need is a little XSLT knowledge and you're good to go.

To keep track of the latest in Neat Index development, keep an eye on its GitHub account.
