Script of the Day: Eric Cartman

A simple shopping cart created with jQuery and HTML 5

By on December 5th, 2012 17:01 GMT

Named after one of the raciest characters in the history of TV, Eric Cartman is a jQuery and HTML5-based shopping cart widget.

It is not a complete e-commerce pack, but only the shell code that powers simple “add to cart” animations, product catalog display and product total calculations.

Eric Cartman uses jQuery to power its animations and heavily relies on HTML 5 localStorage to keep track of the user's cart products and their respective price tags.

If you want it to handle financial transactions, then you must integrate it yourself with a billing service like PayPal, Skrill, Google Checkout, etc.

If anyone is interested in contributing to its source code, the project is open sourced and available on GitHub.
