14 DAY TRIAL // Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia has just started to deliver a new software update for some of the owners of Symbian-based devices, namely Nokia Belle Feature Pack 1.
At the moment, the new OS flavor is being pushed only to the owners of Nokia 603, Nokia 700 and Nokia 701 devices.
However, the company is set to make the new platform version available for all Symbian devices, in a staged roll-out, just as with any other OS release for these mobile phones.
“With new personalisation possibilities, improved entertainment experiences and enhanced performance, Nokia Belle Feature Pack 1 has started to be available for Nokia 603, Nokia 700 and Nokia 701 devices only,” a recent post on Nokia Conversations explains.
“The roll out will take place per variant and per country; stay tuned for your software update notifications and update your device over the air to Nokia Belle Feature Pack 1.”
The company has already provided a variety of details on what the new software update includes, such as the inclusion of Dolby Headphone and Dolby Digital Plus to offer a better audio experience, when it comes to the playback of music and movies.
For those who would like to learn more on the new Nokia Belle FP1, a series of screenshots are now available, courtesy of My Nokia Blog, offering visual details on what’s about to arrive on Nokia’s latest Symbian devices.
Along with the widgets that Nokia Belle came with, new personalization capabilities are available through Feature Pack 1, courtesy of 20 new and improved widgets for users to place on their home screens for fast access.
The new update also brings along an improved browser with HTML 5 support, a new version of Nokia Maps, together with the Microsoft Office apps for Symbian, which are being delivered to users over the air.
Moreover, phone owners will also benefit from a better notifications bar after updating to Nokia Belle FP1, and they will also enjoy a refreshed multitasking bar.
