Motorola is nearing the official unveiling of the Moto X, its next Android-based smartphone, which has been rumored for a long time to bring along a brand new mobile experience, including new camera capabilities detailed in a fresh set of leaked screenshots.

Available courtesy of Android Police, the aforementioned screenshots provide us with a glimpse at the Camera application in action.

The upcoming app will pack a cleaner user interface, with a focus on gestures. A control wheel that swipes from the left side enables users to make various adjustments, with options for flash, focus, panorama, and more.

Users will be able to easily access the Gallery through swiping from the right, and will also have a "Quick Capture" feature at their disposal, which enables them to open the camera through two quick flicks of the wrist (even with the phone locked).

The camera app on Moto X has been detailed not long ago in a leaked video demo coming from Rogers, and the new screenshots confirm some of the features presented there.

One of these is the option to take photos in succession through simply touching the screen and holding the finger there. Simply tapping the screen will take a single shot.

The camera app will also provide users with the possibility to easily switch between photos and videos for both back and front cameras.

On top of that, the application comes with an enhanced tutorial to provide users with specific info on what each option has to offer.

Other features of the new camera app include a semi-transparent navigation bar, a slow-motion video mode, and virtual zoom through swiping the finger up and down on the screen.

The Moto X is expected to arrive on shelves with a 10.5-megapixel camera, which should go along pretty nicely with the new camera application, that’s for sure.
