Canadian mobile phone maker BlackBerry is getting ready for the launch of its BlackBerry Messenger service to Android and iOS devices, and a screenshot that allegedly shows it running on an Android smartphone is now available online.

Unfortunately, the photo only shows the login screen of BBM on a Samsung Galaxy S III and doesn’t unveil much on the features and capabilities that users will enjoy with it, but it does confirm that the release date is getting close.

According to BGR, which brought said photo to the web, the application is working pretty well, and should be officially released in the not too distant future.

Previously, BlackBerry announced that it had planned on making BBM available on Android and iOS before the end of the summer, yet no specific launch date has been provided.
