Norb Software Development has announced the launch of the Antietam Battle Pack for its own strategy game Scourge of War: Gettysburg, a title which aims to offer a solid simulation of the most important battles of the American Civil War.

The new package allows gamers to explore both the Antietam engagement, which was the bloodiest one of the war, and the South Mountain blocking battles that preceded it.

There are 28 new single player and 2 multiplayer historical scenarios and the developers use real life data to create four accurate maps.

The Antietam simulation aims to recreate the experience of the commanding officers in the American Civil War battles, who had to deal with the fog of war, communication problems and the innovations of the moment before committing their troops to battle and trying to win it.

The expansion is now available for download at the official Scourge of War site.
