More details into Scott Stapp’s current state of mind have emerged online, and we should probably start this by saying that they’re very troubling: a 911 call placed by his sister-in-law and his wife last month has been published online.

Also last month, the Creed frontman, one of the biggest bands of the ‘90s, posted a rambling video to his Facebook page (see the second video below), in which he claimed he had been living out of his truck and in hotel rooms, starving and alone, but that he was clean.

The phone call embedded right above was made a few days before he posted the video, when his sister-in-law and his wife sent the police to retrieve him.

Stapp claims he’s a secret agent, threatens to kill Obama

The rocker’s sister-in-law tells the police that a male family member (Stapp) had just escaped from a mental institution, had stopped taking the pills he was supposed to, and was self-medicating and probably doing drugs.

He was in a bad shape, the caller explained: he drove on his bike without a shirt, carrying a backpack with CIA documents which he had downloaded from the net but claimed were his. He was a special CIA undercover agent, he told everyone, and he had been tasked with the mission of killing the US President Barack Obama.

Stapp was most definitely taking some drugs, the same caller continued, and the family was worried that he might do something to harm himself or others. She begged with the police officer to send someone over to the hotel room Stapp was staying at, to bring him back to the psych ward.

Later on, Stapp’s wife Jaclyn also joined in, saying that she loved her husband and she wanted him to be healthy again, but only police intervention could help at that point.

Stapp is still out there, unwell

The police did go to the rocker’s hotel room but they found no evidence that he was as mentally unstable as the phone call made him sound, so they didn’t take him in. According to TMZ, he told the officers that he had, indeed, run from home but the only reason he was riding a bike was because his wife had stolen his truck.

He also accused her of stealing $6 million (€4.82 million) from him, telling the cops that she tried to have him committed when he confronted her.

Minutes after the police visit, Stapp posted the video below to his Facebook, pleading with fans for help on getting the proper legal representation, to unmask a giant conspiracy against him, which included family members who had been stealing money from him, the IRS, and other governmental institutions.

He also claimed that he was sane of mind and sober and clean, and that whoever claimed differently was only out to ruin his reputation.

Some days before this happened, Stapp was placed under involuntary psychiatric hold after he was found on the side of the road rambling about conspiracy theories, terrorists, and the government. Right now, his wife, who filed for divorce from him some time ago, is trying to have him on another psychiatric hold, this time for 60 days.
