Yes, it is counter intuitive

In an unusual twist for a videogame developer, Capcom thought they needed to promote pacifism in today's violent world. So, they chose 1942: Joint Strike, their just released arcade shooter which is available on the Xbox 360 and on the PlayStation 3, and decided to launch the 1942 Limbo Contest. The idea is that, in order to win the competition, you need to get through the game by scoring as little as possible. Scoring is tied to shooting, so you have to keep shooting to a minimum. If you manage to create a video of yourself as you achieve a low score, then send it to Capcom until September 1 in order to win the Limbo Contest.

The second place is reserved for those that get the lowest scores in the second mission of the game, which would seem to be easier, except for the fact that there are still huge numbers of enemies on screen that practically beg you to shoot them down and get points.

The competition is a nice idea, considering the high score obsessed gaming world that we live and play in. And you can also win some pretty interesting prizes.

There will be two winners chosen for the first place, in another unusual move. They are going to get a 1942 leather jacket, a 1942 logo shirt and the download codes required to get both Commando 3 and Bionic Commando: Rearmed from the online stores of the Xbox 360 and of the PlayStation 3. There will also be six winners for the second place and they will also be handed the codes for videogame download.

So don't forget that shooting things down is not the answer. Pacifism can bring you some cool prizes if you manage to get through 1942: Joint Strike without taking down too many enemies before September 1.
