Warner Bros. has announced a new videogame featuring Scooby Doo and the entire team of Mystery Inc. The action adventure title is being developed by Torus Games and is set to arrive on the Nintendo Wii home console, the Nintendo DS handheld and the PlayStation 3 at some point in September 2010.

Daphne, Velma, Fred, Shaggy and their inexhaustible canine companion Scooby Doo are called upon to investigate a mysterious swamp girl and her weird cauldron of strange brew. The companions will need to explore the swamp itself to solve the riddle but they will also move to other locations like an Alpine village, a ghost town set somewhere in the South and more in order to get the clues they need to discover the truth.

The big gameplay addition coming in Scooby Doo! and the Spooky Swamp is that of cooperative play. Fans of the characters can choose their favorite and jump at will between them and the others but other friends can also join in to offer much needed help with the most complicated puzzles and toughest boss fights. Players can go in and out of the game at will, the Artificial Intelligence taking over as needed.

The game will introduce new gadgets that players are able to use in their investigation and there are also costume pieces that can be collected to improve the looks of the gang. Scooby Snack are also scattered at points in the levels, allowing players to get more accessories and more clothes to try out.

Samantha Ryan, who is the senior vice president of Development and Production at Warner Bros., said, “Scooby Doo! and the Spooky Swamp expands the Scooby-Doo franchise with more of the mystery and exploration that video game fans have come to adore. Playing as any one of their favourite Scooby-Doo characters, kids and families can work together to find clues, use investigative tools and solve puzzles in humorous and hair-raising adventures.”
