Scientology Recruits Jennifer Lopez' Twins

Jennifer Lopez wanted Tom Cruise to be godfather to her babies

Jennifer Lopez has just ensured that no one in Hollywood will ever take her seriously - either as an artist or as a mother. The Latino singer has asked none other than Scientology fanatic Tom Cruise to be godfather to her newborn twins, son Max and daughter Emme, and Cruise was more than happy to accept the offer. This decision may come as a complete shock to those of you who believed Lopez and Anthony were devout Catholics. Apparently, when it comes to money and fame the big decisions in the Lopez-Anthony household, J.Lo is the one calling the shots. Lopez is said to have insisted that Cruise be accepted as godfather, despite his rather dubious current religious standards - and as always, her wishes prevailed.

"Tom is delighted. Marc wasn't sure if it was a good idea to have a Scientologist as the kids' godfather, especially as he and Jennifer are both Catholic. But in the end Jennifer managed to convince him to agree," a source revealed. Well, of course Anthony allowed himself to be persuaded - in the end, family may be important, but money, fame and prestige are just as worthy a cause to pursue in modern-day Hollywood. The couple's babies already allowed their parents to cash in a whopping $6 million for the sale of their first-ever photos, but mommy and daddy apparently decided it was the time for the twins to make a little more on the side. It goes without saying that Cruise already started to lavishly fulfill his godfather duties by spending a reported $200,000 on designer christening outfits, a giant fish tank fitted into the kids' nursery and complete Disney DVD box sets.

Cruise and wife Katie Kate Holmes are rumored to be planning a "star-studded" party for the twins that's coming with a price tag of over $200,000. So, what's not to like about Tom Cruise? When it comes to money, would his weird alien Scientology beliefs prevent you from allowing him to have a say in the future of your children? It has long been claimed that one of Tom's major duties is to recruit high-profile stars and indoctrinate them into becoming Scientologists. It didn't work with the Beckhams or with Will Smith (yet), so he turned his eye to J.Lo and there she was - the ready-made victim of her own self-centered arrogance. Good move.

Wow... I guess with money you can get divorced within 1 day to marry J-lo and you can be a godfather to catholic children! As a Mexican Catholic myself, I think its outrages how even the catholic diocese can be bought!!!! hypocrits! I believe when you baptize and are catholics the Godparent's are also supposed to be catholics and married in a catholic church! and I am not a holy roller. I just think people have too much money and do what they want and bend the rules as they please! good luck in that cult J-lo!

Marc Anthony, you are a FOOL for letting Tom Cruise be the Godfather of your twins, and SHAME on the Catholic Priest who performed their Baptism. I am Catholic and my Husband is Jewish, and NOT one Priest would perform my Daugther's Baptism if the Godparents were NOT Catholic. Guess if I waved enoug money in their face, it wouldn't have been a problem. Definitely NOT right! You should have stayed with your previous Wife who was probably more down to earth and rich in Puerto Rican tradition and religous roots then your so-called "Jenny on the block" who is nothing more than a money monger! Enough said!
