Sci-fi Book to Be Made Sci-fi Game

- Orson Scott Card's Ender's Game to be developed by Chair Entertainment

By: Calin Ciabai, Games Editor

All the science fiction fans out there should be really happy right now, since Orson Scott Card's book "Ender's Game" will be turned into a... uhm... game. And since turning bestselling books into hit video games
ain't a job for anybody, Chair Entertainment, the creative team responsible for titles such as Advent Rising and Undertow, were given the assignment.

The game will focus on the "Battle Room" featured in the beloved novel. If you don't know it already, the Battle Room is the training ground for the future leaders of the International Fleet and the home of the best, since Earth is at war with an alien species known as the Formics. Through simulated war games and training conducted in the Battle Room, the children rise through the ranks of Battle School to become Earth’s only hope for victory.

"From the moment I started working with Donald Mustard and his team at Chair, I knew that these were the guys I wanted to do the first Ender's Game video game," said Orson Scott Card. "It's not enough to slap the Ender's Game name on just any game--it has to be exciting, memorable, and endlessly replayable. Chair shares my understanding of this and I am looking forward to working with them to ensure the game is as authentically Enderish as possible."

The game will be developed for all the next generation consoles, handheld platforms and PC systems, so that everybody will be able to experience this great universe and breathtaking story. And, even though the development hasn't started yet, but it is expected to start later this year, the developers have plans to release Ender's Game via downloadable platforms first.

Chair Entertainment is not a stranger with Card, since the two parties have previously collaborated for "Empire". And things are set to get even better for gamers and sci-fi fans alike, since the developers plan to release other games and comic books based on Orson Scott Card's titles.
