Will he stay or will he go? This seems to be the main question that surrounds the Italian GP this weekend. And we all know who we're talking about. Following plenty of rumors this past few months, Michael Schumacher will finally announce his decision on staying or leaving Formula One after this season.

Some of his friends agreed that, unless he wins the World Championship this year, he should continue until making a glorious exit. After
all, a true champion has to leave the scene as a champion, not as a runner-up.

On the other hand, this would be the perfect time for Ferrari to sign Formula One champion-to-be Kimi Raikkonen. The Finn will leave McLaren next season and Ferrari has to think about the future. With Massa proving himself better and better, the Italian team has to make up their minds.

As for the first situation, it's hard to believe Schumacher will win the title unless taking at least 2 points out of Alonso at Monza. After Italy, there are only 3 more races to go, and the 12-point disadvantage over Alonso might prove to be decisive.

Flavio Briattore, the man who runs Renault - Ferrari's rivals this season - stated that Schumi already made up his mind: He'll quit after this season. The media reports in Germany this morning also reveal that their champion will not continue in Formula One. "Bild" made it very clear that Schumacher will announce his retirement after this weekend, no matter the result.

The media also speculated on both Ross Brown and Flavio Briattore - two of Schumacher's closest friends in Formula One - also taking a rest from the racing world. If Ross Brown is yet to comment on that possibility, Briatore left no room for interpretation: he will continue directing F1 teams at least for one more year.
