Nobody has been able to explain the unusual phenomenon yet

A mysterious black ring appeared in the sky of England on Friday evening leaving regular people and scientists confused as to what it was.

The bizarre black ring was floating like a cloud above Leamington Spa, Warwickshire and was first spotted by schoolgirl Georgina Heap. The 16-year-old girl filmed the unusual sight and uploaded the video on the Internet.

According to Gizmodo, weather experts explain that the unusual phenomenon has nothing to do with the weather, while local Fire Department says no fires were reported in the area around the time of the sighting. So, at this moment, nobody knows exactly what it was or what generated it.

The girl who captured the enormous black mark on camera says she was stunned when she looked up in the sky and saw the strange smoky loop.

“I looked up at it and thought ‘what the [expletive]?’, it was amazing. It was just floating there like a cloud and then it disappeared. It wasn't birds either,” she recalls.

Georgina was reportedly playing tennis with her mother when she spotted the clearly defined black circle. She says it looked like a giant smoke ring and remained in the sky for about three minutes before it disappeared completely. The stunned girl described it as “the weirdest thing I have ever seen.”

Although, so far, nobody was able to explain the origin of the unusual phenomenon, many compared the black circle to a giant smoke ring, which would be easy to create without a fire that would come to the notice of firefighters.

On the other hand, Nick Pope, an expert on UFO sightings and former government adviser on unexplained phenomena, said he believed the circle may be just a swarm of insects flying in the sky.

“It's a truly bizarre image. It looks like a smoke ring, but I can't see where it could have come from. [...] One other possibility is that the shape is made up of millions of bees or other insects, but I've never heard of insects behaving in this way before, so if this is the explanation, it's a real-life X-File,” he said, according to Daily Mail.

Whatever it is, the unidentified aerial phenomenon is definitely strange and sparked debates among internauts. Some of them say the unexplained circle is actually a “vortex ring,” which is one of the most eccentric sky phenomena on the planet. The vortex rings are usually formed by air mixed with smoke or Steam that is forced out of a relatively small circular opening resulting into a doughnut-shaped vortex.
