If you happen to have a few bucks lying around and feel that you could part with them without too much drama, here is what you can do: donate it to a primary school in Croatia, and help it become energy independent by installing a solar photovoltaic plant.

The school in question is named Ostrog, and sits in the community of Kaštel Lukšić, Tree Hugger reports.

By the looks of it, this school wants to become energy independent not just to be able to spend more money on actual education instead of electricity bills, but also in order to serve as an example for other facilities of its kind.

Apart from investing in a solar photovoltaic plant, the primary school wants to have its current lighting system replaced with an energy efficient one. This would help it further reduce yearly energy costs, and improve on its ecological footprint.

Hoping to raise funds for this project, the school has launched a fundraising campaign on Indiegogo. The campaign ends on January 30, and aims to raise $10,000 (roughly 7,382). Head over to Indiegogo.com if you feel like supporting this project.
