"Schizophrenic" Britney Drugged by Her "Manager"?

The Spears saga is getting uglier by the minute

No party is a party these days without some news on Brit Brit's antics - and I'm happy to report that over the past few days, there's been no high-speed chase, police stand-off or other major disaster involving the popwreck - not that we know of, anyway. The fact is, things on the Britney front have been a lot quieter of late, but I suspect it's less because the singer is in any way on the mend, and more because her dad's been keeping her on a tight leash ever since he was put in charge of most aspects connected to her life.

I have no idea if keeping Britney under such close supervision is a good move - I suspect it is, but there are also plenty of media reports that claim the troubled star has made some attempts to escape her bodyguard and her dad's iron fist treatment. Now that might point out to either Brit being even more insane than we expected, or to her being better but still acting like a spoiled brat.

There's been a rumor going round these past days that Britney may have been diagnosed with schizophrenia - in which case her mental condition really is more serious than anyone could ever have imagined. But in that case, I would assume she would need much more than just her father's tough loving, some meds and a bowl of chicken soup for lunch. In any case, Britney's welfare is still a very controversial issue - seeing that her former self-proclaimed manager Sam Lutfi is not backing down without a fight and doesn't seem to take kindly to the fact that he has been removed from Britney's life altogether.

Luckily, though, he's probably going to jail himself - and soon, after Lynne Spears filed a declaration in which she described how Lutfi bragged to her about keeping Britney drugged up and slipping her meds mashed up in her food. "Sam told Jackie and me that he grinds up Britney's pills, which were on the counter and included Risperdol and Seroquel. He told us that he puts them in her food and that was the reason she had been quiet for the last three days. He told us that the doctor who is treating her is trying to get her into a sleep induced coma so that they could then give her drugs to 'heal her brain.'" reads an excerpt from Lynne's statement.

OK magazine also quotes a police insider who claims Lutfi is currently under investigation. "Yes. He was practicing medicine without a license when he was grinding up a cocktail of prescription pills and putting it in her food. There's no doubt about that being a felony among other charges" the insider states. I can hardly wait for the day Lutfi goes to jail and starts paying for all the ways in which he used Britney.
