Sceptre has just announced the introduction of a new 46-inch HDTV which supports Full HD resolutions and features a thin design as well as the SRS TruSurround HD and TruVolume audio technologies.

The new HDTV is dubbed the X460BV-FHD and is significantly slimmer and lighter than the previous Sceptre models as it measures less than an inch at its thinnest point (4.4-inch at its thickest).

The top selling point, however, is the HDTV's support for the SRS TruSurround HD and TruVolume audio technologies.

SRS TruSurround HD was designed so that it could create a three-dimensional surround sound by using only two speakers and it also helps to eliminate the background noise, increase the dialog clarity and adjust the bass according to the type of content viewed.

The other audio standard, TruVolume, prevents volume fluctuations when switching between sources, channels or programming.

In addition to these two technologies, the Sceptre X460BV-FHD also packs a 7-band equalizer, dual 10 Watt speakers, an all-in-one ATSC/NTSC/Clear QAM tuner, a detachable base and a swivel mechanism with 30 degrees freedom of movement.

On the back of the HDTV, users will find four HDMI ports, one component and one composite input, a VGA port as well as a USB connector. The Sceptre X460BV-FHD also features a coaxial type S/PDIF audio output.

The LCD panel used has a response time of 8ms (gray to gray), a 5000:1 contrast ratio and its brightness is rated at 450cd/m2.

“SRS TruSurround HD and TruVolume perfectly complements Sceptre’s image quality and will enhance the full home theater experience without needing any additional speakers or components,” stated Cathy Chou, vice president of Operations at Sceptre.

The 46-inch Sceptre X460BV-FHD can be purchased right now from retailers such as Walmart, NewEgg, QVC, Target, Sears, and K-Mart and its pricing has been set at $699.99.
