Over time, the guys over at mimoco have come up with what could be described as the funniest USB flash drives ever, since these portable storage devices are entirely hand-made and have some highly "artistic" form factors. And since Halloween is rapidly approaching, the company has just released an ultra-limited edition series of mimobots, the rayD8gig, which is actually an inverse color variant of the immensely popular MIMOBOT Core Series 2 character, rayD8.

According to the manufacturer, the rayD8, the "glowing skeletal guardian of the Underworld," has been the most popular character in the MIMOBOT Core Series 2, and the first to completely sell out. For this reason, and given the imminent arrival of Halloween, the company has decided to "resurrect" it in the form of the rayD8gig, a device that's available in a very limited edition, of just 200 units.

The flash drive measures 2.5 x 1 inches and features a special black paint and a glow-in-the-dark base, which makes it look pretty eerie in a dark room. Furthermore, it's not only for show-off, since it stores up to 8 GB of the user's data and can attain maximum data transfer rates of 480 Mbps.

Additionally, the flash drive comes pre-loaded with the mimoByte sound software, which allows users to listen to the MIMOBOT's "innermost thoughts" when plugged in or removed, as well as with the mimoDesk personalization suite, a series of wallpapers and icons that will turn one’s desktop into a virtual MIMOBOT collection.

This very special USB flash drive, which will most likely instantly turn into a collector's item, sells for around 100 US dollars, which might seem like a pretty high price point for an 8-GB device, but, then again, its overwhelming "cool factor" makes it worth every penny.
