Eddie Murphy and Melanie Brown of the Spice Girls became an item this past summer and people already began speculating they would stay together for ever, judging by the way they were getting along. Plus, Scary Spice got pregnant and there was even talk about married life...
It was all good until America's favorite funnyman went on live TV and said that he was no longer Mel's lover and that, even more, he doubted he was the father of her baby. Apparently, the former Scary Spice was not even aware that she had been dumped and had to learn about it from the press.
Since then, a bitter war of words and accusations has been raging between the two former lovers. He says the child is not his and asks for a paternity test to be taken once it is born. She claims he dumped her in the most unmanly manner (with her being pregnant and all), that he's the father and that she'll leave him penniless for saying otherwise.
Meanwhile, Melanie returned from Britain to her Los Angeles rented home that she shares with her daughter, Phoenix Chi. But, if she was looking for peace and quiet there, she came to the wrong place. 'The Sun' reports that the former singer is daily verbally abused by a bunch of Eddie fans who camped outside her house and who take to insulting and accusing her of all kinds of things, each time she comes out.
The abuse is such that Brown was forced to hire 24-hour protection from the cops. 'She is extremely lonely in LA and her life is being made intolerable by Eddie's fans camped outside. They shout insults and give her abuse all the time. The police have decided to place an officer outside to keep an eye on things.', a source told the newspaper.
So far, there are no details available as to the upcoming legal battle between Mel and Eddie, probably because both sides are preparing to go to war, once the child is born. We'll keep you posted with more.
