Scarlett Johansson arrived at the London premiere of her new movie "Match Point" wearing a demure dark blue dress. It was a Dolce&Gabana, but the fans were expecting the usual display of cleavage, so they were disappointed.
The actress hurried to explain the situation. The dress she was supposed to wear on the red carpet had been confiscated at the British customs.
She said: "I didn't plan to wear this dress. The one I wanted to wear was flown in today but it was confiscated by British customs."
The actress had previously declared that Woody Allen is
picking the dresses she wears. The director gained this right after Scarlett was impressed by his sharp eye for fashion.
She said: "What he really seemed focused on was the way the characters looked. He'd see little differences in costumes that I don't think anybody would notice."
And she continued:
"Every film I do, I know exactly what I want to look like, but Woody wanted to pick the dresses I wore.
If we ever have to make any awards-show appearances, I told him he could pick my dress. He seemed to expect that he would be doing that anyway."
