After many years of rocking curly long locks, actress Scarlett Johansson has crossed over to the other side – and unveiled an edgier but, at the same time, still incredibly cute bob cut.

The actress unveiled the new ‘do at the Mango Awards in Barcelona, Spain the other day and has been getting nothing but positive reviews in the media ever since.

While E! Online notes that the new cut accents Scarlett’s features while also giving her an edgier look, the New York Daily News can’t stop raving about how sophisticated it makes her look.

“Scarlett Johansson has a new main mane in her life. The name? Bob. The actress, 25, debuted chopped locks at the Mango Fashion Awards in Barcelona Wednesday,” the publication says.

“Johansson’s new chic cut appeared slightly tousled, with the wavy strands extending slightly beyond her chin,” the NY Daily News further says.

In all fairness, the new ‘do made Scarlett look as if she could simply roll out of bed, put something on, add a touch of makeup and be on her way – though we doubt her look is that easily achieved.

“The Golden Globe nominee and Tony winner seemed confident with the new look as she posed for the press and even playful on stage with French fashion designer Jean-Paul Gaultier, to whom she presented the honorary Mango Button Award,” NY Daily News writes.

Scarlett looked positively stunning in a simple little black dress matched with strappy heels and with few other accessories than a giant crystal pendant hanging low on a thin gold chain.

She also kept makeup to the minimum, to allow the new ‘do take centerstage, and went for a little smoky eye effect and natural-looking lips.

Scarlett’s new ‘do shows that, rather than losing ground in favor of more sophisticated cuts, the bob is holding its ground.

Other celebrities to have recently cut their long hair for a bob include Keira Knightley and Peaches Geldof, both of which have received public praise for how well it suited them.
