The celebrity culture is obsessing with stick-thin celebrities, it has been often said. Amidst countless such stars who stand out from the crowd simply because they’re skinny, Scarlett Johansson has frequently been described as a breath of fresh air for her hourglass figure, but that may soon change, as reports are beginning to circulate that she has just started a rigorous diet to lose weight for her part in the upcoming “Iron Man 2.”

While, just recently, Scarlett was telling the media that she was not the one to diet or turn into a gym freak, and that her body was all-natural, now, rumors say that she too might have caved in to the pressure of being thin.

Spies tell PageSix that Scarlett is on a strict diet, has lost a couple of pounds already, and is looking to lose even more for her part as Black Widow in the sequel to “Iron Man.”

“Say it ain’t so, ScarJo! Scarlett Johansson is getting rid of her famous curves. Eyes popped Tuesday night at Moet & Chandon’s ‘Tribute to Film’ soiree at London’s Big Sky Studios when the ‘very slim’ actress, who’s married to Ryan Reynolds, strutted in wearing a tight, black minidress. ‘She was talking to Thandie Newton about the rigid diet she’s on,’ our spy said of the star of the upcoming ‘Iron Man 2’.” PageSix writes, admittedly based on what very reliable sources are whispering.

As noted above, at the beginning of February, Scarlett herself was telling the media she did not put too much effort into looking that fabulous and staying in shape. She does, however, bike and hike, as countless paparazzi photos can attest, so her claim that her body is all-natural is not entirely accurate.

Still, at the time, the actress was adamant that she would never diet just to fit Hollywood standards, so the question of whether the movie studio has managed to “break” her into seeing things differently arises.

“That [the scary-skinny craze in Hollywood] is the biggest nonsense ever! Count me out. I don’t understand [it]. And besides, I like to eat too much. I’ve seen gyms only from the outside. I feel very comfortable with my body.” Scarlett was sharing at the time. Whether she changed her mind in the meanwhile, only time will tell – or the release of “Iron Man 2,” which has not yet been set.
