Scarlett Johansson has received so many distinctions of this type that, were she to get one more, they would probably completely overshadow her acting career. Which wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing, since many seem to agree on the fact that, pretty as she is, she is not that good an actress. However, to be named by 'Playboy', the very magazine that practically led to the birth of a new female model - the glamour model - and that laid the foundations for a cult to beautiful women (fitting in certain standards, of course), as the sexiest female celebrity of the year is not something that should be disregarded. As neither is the fact that Scarlett, while being thus named, topped other beauties like Angelina Jolie and Jessica Alba. Yet, we must not forget that what 'Playboy' claims with this recent chart has nothing to do with what the women who made the cut are doing or with how well they're doing her jobs. It reflects only Hugh Hefner's subjective opinion about the starlet's looks, curves and public image. And this is exactly why Scarlett deserves to be on the number one position! 'Scarlett Johansson is the apex of beauty and sensuality - from her porcelain skin to her fully feminine figure to her mysterious charisma, which is at once palpable and indefinable', the magazine writes, explaining why the actress was chosen as the best of the best. While 'Playboy' claims that Scarlett's title as the sexiest female celebrity is well deserved, the rest of the chart (meaning the remaining 24 positions) is made at random. There are no arguments given as to why the rest of the ladies are situated on one position or another.
