A couple of weeks ago, rumor had it that the appreciated actress Scarlett Johansson might be going down the path of no return, also known as that of actors who make utter fools of themselves by trying to make a name in the music industry.
At the time, Roger Friedman, the Fox News columnist was writing a story on the subject, citing personal sources: 'My spies say that Scarlett has a lovely, whispery delivery that carries a tune nicely and is suited to Waits' unusual lyrics', thus dispelling the fear that, were there really an album in the making, it would come out as a failure.
Scarlett was rumored to be working on an album that would cover the songs of the famed singer, songwriter and bluesman Tom Waits, the actress being a very big fan of him. Now, confirmation came out of the horse's mouth, namely, the young star.
Recently, she revealed that she has been making time in her very busy agenda for recording sessions and that the move to seek other means to prove herself came because she positively loves Waits' music. 'It's coming along. There is no rush to get it out there', she said about the album that will probably come out some time next year, possibly in the spring.
'We're taking our time - doing a week here and a week there. I just love his [Waits'] music', Scarlett added. Until we get to actually hear her sing, we can see her in all her splendor in the magic thriller/drama, 'The Prestige', opposite Hugh Jackman, Christian Bale and Michael Caine.
