Scarlett Johansson is in talks to star in "The Prestige", the next outing for "Batman Begins" director Christopher Nolan. She might star along Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman, who will play two magicians in early 1990s London battling one another for trade secrets.
The young actress is to play Olivia, a magician's assistant sent to spy on the competition. The film might also star, according to Reuters, Michael Caine and David Bowie.
Filming is due to start in January, with a budget around $40 million.
Scarlet Johansson's latest projects include Woody Allen's "Match Point", to be released December 28, and upcoming thriller "The Black Dahlia". She filmed "Scoop" this summer and was also cast in "The Nanny Diaries", due to start filming in February in Toronto and New York.
While filming "Match Point", the great come-back of Woody Allen, the actress lived an unpleasant experience during a
sex scene she was shoting. That was not because of her partner, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, but because of the location - a cornfield.
Nothing spectacular, except it was raining, and, last but not least, the actress happens to have a wheat allergy.
She declared, "It was raining so we were wet, and we had to reshoot it several times. On top of that, I have a wheat allergy, which meant it was not great rolling around in a cornfield!"
