Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds talk divorce details over dinner, says report

Earlier this week, word got out that Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds may have reconsidered last year’s decision to file for divorce, since they were spotted out to dinner together. As it turns out, it wasn’t really a “date.”

Several eyewitnesses confirm for Us Magazine that, indeed, Scarlett and Ryan did go out for dinner a few times these past few days, but it had nothing to do with talks of a reconciliation.

In fact, it’s may be the exact opposite of that, as the two are determined to get a divorce, so they prefer to talk details face to face and not on the phone or through their attorneys.

Moreover, spies tell the mag that Scarlett was seen crying over dinner, prompting talk that she may not be fully convinced that divorce is the best alternative.

“Heads turned at LA’s Chateau Marmont at 11 p.m. Jan. 28, when exes Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johansson, who filed for divorce Dec. 23, got drinks on the patio and chatted for an hour,” Us Magazine writes.

However, there was no “flirting” as previous reports had it. In fact, the meeting was very emotional, but not because the two got back together, the same report argues.

“Johansson, 26, did most of the talking in what appeared to be a rollercoaster conversation. She would at some points smile, then appear to fight back tears. Turns out it wasn’t just a nightcap, either,” Us says.

“There are no plans to reconcile, but they’re still friends. They have divorce details to work out, and they’d rather do it face-to-face than in some office,” a spy says for the same publication.

Before the so-called reconciliation dinner, Ryan Reynolds was briefly linked in the press with good friend and “The Proposal” co-star Sandra Bullock, a story she denied on the red carpet at the Golden Globes 2011.

Ryan and Scarlett were married in September 2008 and separated two years later. They offered no reason for the separation, but said in a statement they were leaving the marriage as they had entered it, “with love.”
