14 DAY TRIAL // Software and Computer Systems Company (SCSC) has announced the release of Scannerz 1.7, the latest version of the company’s hard drive, SSD, and system testing tool that includes a new Diagnostics Mode.
Scannerz comes in three packages: Scannerz with FSE, Performance Probe, and Phoenix; Scannerz with FSE-Lite, Performance Probe, and Phoenix; and Scannerz Lite.
Whichever you choose is up to you. The software uses advanced diagnostics to check a Mac’s hard drive, allowing regular users to make easy evaluations and advanced users to perform thorough diagnostics configuration and troubleshooting.
All you need to do is click on the drive or volume you want to evaluate and start a test. Users get full support for Core Storage volumes used in OS X Lion, Mountain Lion, and Mavericks. Apple RAID is also supported.
As of June 20, 2013, Scannerz comes with Phoenix, a system utility that allows users to create an emergency boot volume to host Scannerz, create independent emergency OS drives, and clone volumes.
Company owner Bill Wagner reveals that Scannerz 1.7 includes a new Diagnostics Mode which “more or less renders Cursory Mode testing obsolete.” Users no longer have to rely on manual Cursory Mode testing to evaluate complex situations. Currently, Scannerz 1.7 is available for download on the SCSC site. The full product is at version 1.7, but the demo has yet to been updated with the new features.
