A lot of scams promising full downloads of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows: Part 1" have popped up online, following news that part of the upcoming movie was leaked.

"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1" is the first part of the final installment of the Harry Potter film series and is one of the most anticipated movies of the year.

Based on the novel of the same name, the two films are expected to tie up a lot of loose ends and complete the adventure of Harry Potter, a character loved by millions of people.

However, it seems that the series finale will be a three-parter for a lot of fans, because the first 36 minutes of Part 1 was leaked online three days in advance of the movie's premiere.

The incomplete DVD Screener is currently being shared on torrents, but Warner Bros. is trying to take down as many of the copies as possible.

Nevertheless, there's a huge interest in the movie, with TorrentFreak reporting that it was the most searched film on some torrent sites on Monday.

Unfortunately, when something generates enough buzz, cyber criminals are usually just around the corner waiting to profit from it.

Tens of torrents are already pushing fake copies of the video and ask users to install special codecs or players, which are in fact malware.

Meanwhile, security vendor PC Tools warns about scam websites that use a Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows download lure.

These sites require users to expose their personal information by registering and also to participate in various surveys, which attempt to subscribe them to premium rate services.

Harry Potter and The Deadly Hallows-themed spam began at the middle of last month, when several campaigns advertising fake movie tickets were spotted.
